About

Triona Guidry, computer specialist and freelance writer
Hello, I’m Triona Guidry. For over 25 years I’ve helped consumers and small businesses solve their computer problems.

Through my freelance firm, Lightning Technology Services Inc., I provide Windows and Mac tech support including virus removal, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance. I also offer web design, social media marketing, computer training for groups and individuals, and writing services such as copy editing and proofreading. I write articles, web site copy, social media bios, brochures, newsletters, blogs, and more. You’re welcome to visit my online writing portfolio to see examples of my work.

I am especially proficient in providing computer support to women business professionals, seniors, and families with children, all of whom have unique needs that may not be met by your average technician. I enjoy getting to know my clients and helping them learn more about their computers. Technology should be a help, not a hindrance.

So if you’re a beginner, you can feel comfortable asking me the most basic of questions. And if you’re an experienced user, I can give you the latest scoop on trends in technology. Throughout my freelance career I have remained a one-person operation, the better to provide quality one-on-one service to my customers.

As a tech writer, my work has been featured in publications including The Wall Street Journal and The Writer. I am a regular tech columnist for The Northwest Herald, and have written monthly articles for them from 2010 to the present.

I’m based in the far northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois (McHenry County and Lake County). On-site service available by appointment only in the communities of Algonquin, Barrington, Bull Valley, Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox River Grove, Island Lake, Lake Barrington, Lake in the Hills, Lakewood, Oakwood Hills, Port Barrington, Prairie Grove, Trout Valley, and Woodstock. Availability outside of these areas is limited.

Please contact me to find out how I can help with your computer needs.
